eTwinning Project of the month: Snapshot of Europe 2012

“Snapshot of Europe,” is an eTwinning project with thirty-seven schools across Europe participating in it. It involves the use of photography by primary school children who are encouraged to take photos of their country using mobile phones and/or digital cameras. Photos are divided into four categories: People, Places, Nature and Sport.

eTwinning Project Showcase Seminar – June 2012

On Wednesday 6th of June, the winners of the eTwinning Awards 2012 met at the eLearning Centre and gave a presentation about their projects.  Teachers, Education Officers, Heads of School and College Principals were present for the seminar and heard about how these eTwinners started off their projects, learned about their work with their students and their European Partners and were invited to look at the Projects’ TwinSpaces.

The seminar was divided into two: Primary and Secondary Projects, with a short networking break where light refreshments were also served. Participants also received an eTwinning informative pack, including the latest eTwinning book.

Well done to the winning teachers, who provided such an excellent and interesting insight about their eTwinning work with their students :)

One of the priorities in our School Development Programme is our participation in EU projects, mainly: eTwinning, Comenius and Leonardo. This priority has been established for the past seven years, and because of the benefits and the positive results we have harvested throughout these past few years, we continue to include these projects in our SPD.

Application for Teachers of Spanish to attend eTwinning Contact Seminar in Madrid

Are you a teacher in a secondary school (state or non-state) who will be teaching Spanish in class during the scholastic year 2012-2013?  Then you might be eligible to apply for the Contact Seminar between Malta and Spain, which will be held between the 25th-27th of October in Madrid.  The aim of this Contact Seminar will be for the participants to create pedagogically sound projects together with their students.  The language of instruction of this seminar will be Spanish, so applicants must be fluent in it.

eTwinning NSS Visits the Winning Students

During the month of May, the eTwinning National Support Service was busy visiting the students whose projects have placed first, second and third in the eTwinning National Awards.  The teachers had already received their awards during the eTwinning Awards Night held on the 27th of April 2012 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. The eTwinning NSS then visited the schools one by one to speak to the students and to distribute eTwinning tokens to all those who took part in the winning projects.
