eTwinning Project of the Month: Europe, So Many Faces!

Europe, So Many Faces

By Ms. Marouska Azzopardi Duca – St. Clare College, San Gwann Primary B

Our class 6.3 of San Gwann Primary B, St. Clare College, took part in an eTwinning Project called “Europe: So Many Faces”. It was a perfect name because it involved 35 European countries and their various traditions.

The project started with an introduction video created by all partners. A number of students in our class had fun going around filming and commenting about the school. The next step was to choose five places that tourists would want to visit in our country. We had to illustrate them and present them as a PowerPoint and as a video.  We chose: the Megalithic Temples; St. John’s Co-Cathedral; Verdala Palace; Dwejra and Fort St. Angelo.

eTwinning Weeks 2014: European and Maltese Competitions

The Maltese eTwinning National Support Service is pleased to announce the eTwinning Weeks Campaign which. this year, will run from the 13rd October to the 3rd November. Prizes are up for winning for both competitions, and all educators are free to participate for both.

Hop, Skip and Jump: Coding with Hopscotch

I must admit that Hopscotch is one of my favourite coding apps, not only because it is fun and easy to use, but because it is so versatile that students from across all grades can learn how to code and have fun with the app. It follows a very simple concept: drag and drop blocks of code in order to form a program. But the interesting thing is this:  the ‘blocks’ can then be expanded, and the code made as complicated, or as easy, as the user allows or is able to. Students will be able to use the app to code a wide variety of things, from simple animations, to interactive art, and even other apps!
