Launch of new eTwinning Portal 2016

eTwinning is happy to release a redesign of the public portal. Over the summer, we have worked hard on a new website to better suit the needs of teachers.

The website has been restructured to make it more in-line with the three central tenets of eTwinning:

  • Collaboration: a greater prominence has been given to eTwinning projects
  • Community: discover what happens behind the scenes, get registered and meet your peers
  • Lifelong learning: the new website has a dedicated section on the type of professional development opportunities provided by eTwinning.

Take a look at this short video to learn more about eTwinning and the benefits offered for schools, teachers, and students alike. Contact the National Support Service on 25982177/25982150/25982805 or etwinning@ilearn.edu.mt for more info.

eTwinning Plus – How to make yourself available for eTwinning Projects with ‘Plus’ Countries

In March of 2013, the European Commission launched the eTwinning Plus Project.  eTwinning Plus is a pilot that will see a select number of schools and teachers from Ukraine, Tunisia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan join the thousands of eTwinning teachers who are already collaborating online.

The pilot is part of the European Commission’s Neighbourhood Policy, which encourages links and collaboration with those countries in our immediate neighbourhood.

eTwinners from Malta are currently able to invite teachers who hail from these countries into their existing projects. In order to do this, Maltese teachers can make themselves available to eTwinning Plus teachers by:

  1. Logging on the eTwinning Desktop
  2. Clicking on ‘Profile’
  3. Clicking on ‘Yes’ to ‘I am available for an eTwinning Plus Partnership’

For more information please refer to the eTwinning National Support Service – Send us an email on etwinning@ilearn.edu.mt (Amanda/Jacqueline).

You can also read more about eTwinning Plus by visiting the eTwinning Portal.

New eTwinning Portal Launched

On Wednesday 12th of September 2012, the new eTwinning Portal was unveiled for all to see. This was the result of months of collaboration between the Central Support Service (CSS) and all the National Support Services (NSS), including Malta.

The new Portal can be accessed at the usual URL, that is: http://www.etwinning.net.

The revamped Portal includes some new instructional videos, which can be accessed from the Get Support Section:  http://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/get_support/help.htm

The new Portal will shortly be followed by the launch of the New TwinSpace, which will happen towards the end of the September 2012.  All projects which are approved after this date will be able to work on the new TwinSpace; whilst all other projects will retain their present format.

The eTwinning National Support Service plans to hold training on the new Portal and TwinSpace during the first term of the scholastic year 2012-2013.  More details will follow on our website soon.
