eTwinning Mascot Competition

eTwinning Malta is launching a competition open for Secondary Schools and the 16+ Mikiel Anton Vassalli College. Participants are asked to design an eTwinning Mascot. The chosen Mascot will feature on our eTwinning website and newsletter. The best entry will receive a Bluetooth headset and eTwinning tokens for all students of the winning class.

Rules for competition
1. You are to design an eTwinning Mascot to represent the Maltese eTwinner. It should portray a positive and friendly disposition and should appeal to all ages. The Mascot can take whatever form, be it human, animal or any artistic creation.
2. The mascot needs to fit in with the eTwinning colour scheme which is orange and blue. You can design it on paper or electronically (pdf or jpeg formats only).
Entries are to be submitted in digital form via a link on file sharing sites such as Dropbox, wetransfer; or via email on eTwinning Malta’s Gmail account-etwinningmalta@gmail.com. The eTwinning National Support Service will confirm receipt via email upon receiving entries. Kindly ensure that your entry reaches the National Support Service by not later than Friday the 28th April 2017. The winning entry will be officially announced in May 2017.
Spring eTwinning Competition

Spring PosterEducators currently engaged in an eTwinning project, are invited to create a short video which shows off their respective Spring eTwinning activities. There are three categories in this competition: Kindergarten, Primary Level Years 1 to 3 and Primary Level Years 4 to 6.
The winning entry for each category will receive an Instax – instant camera as well as eTwinning tokens for all participating students.
The best entry selected from each category will then be uploaded on the eTwinning National iLearn virtual page and on the eTwinning website – www.etwinning.skola.edu.mt

 

Rules for competition
1. Theme: Teachers together with their students are encouraged to create a short (2-5 minute) video. The video can show activities related to a Spring topic which have been carried out during the course of a project. This may include a short introduction, the children at work or even photos of a related activity.

2. The video may be edited using any commercially available video editing software, such as Movie Maker, iMovie, Kizoa, PhotoStory etc. Any video camera or photo camera with video functionality, or smartphone/tablet may be used.

3. Entries are to be submitted in digital form using online repository tools such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc or via a link on file sharing sites such as Dropbox, wetransfer; or via email on eTwinning Malta’s Gmail account etwinningmalta@gmail.com. The eTwinning National Support Service will confirm receipt via email upon receiving entries.

4. Kindly ensure that your entry has been received by the National Support Service within the stipulated deadline, that is by Friday 28th April 2017.
Winners will be announced in May 2017.

eTwinning Weeks Competitions:  September 2013

eTwinning Malta is marking the start of the new scholastic year 2013-2014 with the eTwinning Back to School Competition and the eTwinning Weeks Initiative, which encompasses an eTwinning Competition plus a number of activities in which all teachers can participate.

eTwinning Back to School Competition

The first 50 teachers engaging in eTwinning Projects with European Partners as from the beginning of the scholastic year 2013-2014 will receive an eTwinning Desk Calculator.

Each project with a Maltese teacher registered in it between beginning of September and the end of November 2013 will be eligible to participate in a lottery with the chance to win 1 of 3 video conferencing kits for the school, consisting of a Logitech B500 1.3MP Webcam, and a Speedlink Desk and Hand Microphone.

eTwinning Weeks 2013

The eTwinning Central Support Service (CSS-Brussels) are also organising an eTwinning Weeks Competition, which will run across all eTwinning countries. Teachers are asked to produce a short video-clip of 60 to 90 seconds. Videos should help promote eTwinning, and students must be within the whole process.

The 10 most liked video clips will be short-listed and reviewed by a European jury (Campaign taskforce) that will select the 3 best clips. The authors will receive a camera kit (from the Central Support Service).

eTwinning Corridor Campaign:  We are (e)Twinning!

Help spread the word and win a HD pocket camcorder in this year’s eTwinning spring competition! We all know eTwinning is great for teachers, schools and students but what about your colleagues? Read more to learn about this competition organised by the Central Support Services.

Alt ImageIn Spring 2013 we are encouraging teachers to organise information sessions to inspire other teachers to join eTwinning. These sessions will be an excellent opportunity for you to share your eTwinning experiences and knowledge. They will coincide with Europe Day and will run during the week of 13-17 May.

Examples of information sessions may include:

  • Special Assemblies about  eTwinning
  • Class/School exhibitions
  • Special activities during Prize Days/Celebration days
  • Students presenting their projects to thev whole school

eTwinning Video Competition 2013

Are you and your students engaged in eTwinning or similar Life Long Learning Program Projects?  Then you may be eligible to participate for our eTwinning Video Competition! Students (working in groups) are invited to create a short video to present their project or activities to a wider audience. More information can be downloaded from  CMeLD 94 – eTwinning Video Competition.

Students are encouraged to work together as a group and not submit individual entries. There are three categories in this competition: Students 3-7 Years, Students 8-11 Years and Students 12-16 Years. Participating student groups will receive eTwinning tokens from the eTwinning National Support Service. One winning entry from each category will be selected, and will receive the following prizes for the school:

· Category Students 3-7 Years: Easi-Scope Microscope
· Category Students 8-11 Years: Video Conferencing Kit consisting of Logitech 1.3 MP Camera and Speedlink Microphone
· Category Students 12-16 Years: Sony Digital Dictaphone
With the schools’ consent, eligible entries will also be uploaded on the eTwinning National Blog, http://etwinning.skola.edu.mt and on eTwinning Malta’s official You Tube Channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/etwinningtv.
Competition Guidelines
  1. The best entry will be selected from each category, that is, Students 3-7 Years, Students 8-11 Years and Students 12-16 Years.  All participating students will receive tokens of participation from the eTwinning National Support Service. Prizes for the best entries will be awarded to the school for the use of all students/teachers engaging in project work. Students are encouraged to work in groups and not submit individual entries.
  2. Theme: Students are encouraged to create a short (2-5 minute)video. The video can depict activities carried out during the course of a project, show students at work, etc. Students are also encouraged to explain the rationale behind the video by filming a short introductory clip at the beginning, to illustrate the activity that will follow.
  3. The video may be edited using any commercially available video editing software, such as Movie Maker, iMovie, Pinnacle Video Spin, etc. Any video camera or photo camera with video functionality, or smartphone/tablet may be used. Tuff Cams can also be used by younger students.
  4. Entries may be submitted via the following formats: Link to online repository such as YouTube, Vimeo and TeacherTube; via a link on file sharing sites such as Dropbox; or via email on eTwinning Malta’s Gmail account,etwinningmalta@gmail.com. The eTwinning National Support Service will confirm receipt via email upon receiving entries.
  5. If video is deemed too large to send over the Internet, a digital copy may be sent by hand to the eTwinning National Support Service on a pendrive or CD.
  6. The deadline for this competition is Friday 3rd May 2013. It is strongly recommended that the National Support Service is contacted to ensure that entries, both via email or by hand, reach our offices within the stipulated deadline.

New Registrations and Register A Friend – January 2013

Targeted at:  New eTwinners & Seasoned eTwinners who recommend a friend joins the eTwinning Action !

1) Category 1 – New Registrations: Teachers who register on the eTwinning Portal (http://www.etwinning.netbetween the 1st of January and the 15th of Febuary 2013 will receive an eTwinning USB Hub (limited numbers apply). The National Support Service will receive notification of new registrations automatically.

2) Category 2 – Register a Friend: Teachers who are already registered on the Portal and who recommend a colleague to register will also receive an eTwinning USB Hub (as above). In this case, written notification must be sent to the National Support Service by the newly registered teacher to inform us about the person who has suggested the new registration. Email notification must be sent to etwinning@ilearn.edu.mt with the name, school and email address of the person who has recommended the new registration on the Portal.

At the end of this registration campaign, there will be a lottery amongst the new teacher registrants and amongst the teachers who have recommended that their colleagues register (categories 1 and 2), with the chance to win 1 of 2 digital photo cameras for the use of the teacher.

eTwinning Competition 2:  eTwinning New Projects Competition

Targeted at:  eTwinners who are already registered and who start or join an eTwinning Project

Teachers engaging in newly registered eTwinning Projects with European Partners as from the 1st of January till the 15th of February 2013 will receive an eTwinning USB pen drive. Each project with a Maltese teacher registered in it between January 1st – February 15th 2013 will be eligible to participate in a lottery with the chance to win 1 of 2 digital photo cameras for the use of the teacher. Back to School Competition: Register or Join a Project and Win!

To celebrate the start of the scholastic year, the eTwinning National Support Service is organising the eTwinning Back to School competition. Participating teachers will each receive an eTwinning token and they will also have the chance to win digital equipment for their schools.

How can we participate in the Back to School Competition?

The first 50 teachers engaging in eTwinning Projects with European Partners as from the beginning of the scholastic year 2012-2013 will receive an eTwinning mug. Each project with a Maltese teacher registered in it between the beginning of September and the end of November 2012 will be eligible to participate in a lottery with the chance to win 1 of 2 digital video cameras for the school.

How can we know if our school is eligible? From time to time, the  eTwinning National Support Service will publish an updated list of the eligible projects and teachers on our national blog and also on our Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/etwinningmalta.

eTwinning New Registrations and Register a Friend Competition

The eTwinning National Support Service is organising a competition for newly registered teachers and for teachers who suggest that their colleagues register on the Portal. Registration only takes a few minutes and gives users access to thousands of online resources, and the ability to communicate online with other educators across Europe.  Registering teachers will be receiving an eTwinning token from the National Support Service. Read on to find out about the competition regulations!

Competition Regulations for New Registrations, and Register a Friend:

1) Category 1 – New Registrations: Teachers who register on the eTwinning Portal (http://www.etwinning.net) between the 1st of October and the 30th of November 2012 will receive a copy of the eTwinning Diary 2013 (limited numbers apply). The National Support Service will receive notification of new registrations automatically.

2) Category 2 – Register a Friend: Teachers who are already registered on the Portal and who recommend a colleague to register will also receive a copy of the eTwinning Diary 2013 (as above). In this case, written notification must be sent to the National Support Service by the newly registered teacher to inform us about the person who has suggested the newregistration. Email notification must be sent to etwinning@ilearn.edu.mt with the name, school and email address of the person who has recommended the new registration on the Portal.

At the end of this registration campaign, there will be a lottery amongst the new teacher registrants and amongst the teachers who have recommended that their colleagues register (categories 1 and 2), with the chance to win 1 of 2 USB external hard disks (one terabyte) for the use of the teacher.
