This year’s main competition is focused on the National eTwinning Awards which will take place during a cermony in May 2010.
There are two competitions:
- The eTwinning Collaborative Projects Awards 2010
- The Best eTwinning Project Resources Awards 2010
Each competition will have two categories: Primary Schools and Secondary Schools. First prize winners in both competitions will represent Malta in the annual eTwinning Conference 2011 that will be held abroad. More details about further prizes will be given in due course.
The eTwinning Collaborative Projects Awards 2010
How to participate:
- Register a project through the My Projects tab on the eTwinning portal with a European partner or join any other ongoing project.
- Liaise and collaborate with your partner to create the project resources.
- Upload the resources in the Twinspace or put links on it to any other online resources, like blogs, wikis, media repositories…
- Apply for the Quality Label of this project.
- All the projects having the Quality Label during the scholastic year 2009-10 will automatically be vetted for the eTwinning Collaborative Projects Awards 2010.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Pedagogical Innovation and Creativity - how your project displays an innovative approach to teaching and learning
- Curricular Integration - how the project integrates with the curriculum
- Collaboration between partner schools - how the project was planned between the partner teachers; what the role of each partner in the project was; and the collaboration between pupils in the project
- Creative use of ICT - what tools and devices were used to make the project creative
- Sustainability and Transferability - how the project could be expanded upon; how it could be used as a template for others
- Results and Benefits - what the outcomes of the project were; and the benefits to the participants and their schools
The Best eTwinning Project Resources Awards 2010
How to participate:
- Plan a class project around a theme or topic.
- Create the resources with the class students.
- Go to your eTwinning profile and select the tab Resources.
- Select the Upload tab and upload any resources you have in this space. If any resource is larger than 15Mb, you can use external repositories to host them and just upload a document with the link written in it.
- During the last week of April fill in the application form and send it by email to etwinning@schoolnet.gov.mt.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Creative use of ICT - what tools and devices were used to make the project creative
- Curricular Integration - how the project integrates into the curriculum
- Student’s involvement - how the students participated in the project and their actual contributions
- Transferability - how the project resources could be used as a template for others
Eligibility conditions
- A project can only be submitted to one of the two competitions, either the eTwinning Collaborative Projects Awards 2010 or the eTwinning Project Resources Awards 2010.
- Same resources cannot be submitted in both competitions under different project names.
- All the collaborative projects registered in eTwinning during scholastic year 2009-2010 and having received the National Quality Label are eligible to participate in the eTwinning Collaborative Projects Awards 2010, even if they are from the same teacher.
- All the resources submitted for the eTwinning Project Resources Awards 2010 will be considered as a whole project and not individually as separate resources.
