#eTwCitizen16 – Start your Digital Citizenship project!

screen-shot-2016-09-23-at-10-37-45This year’s eTwinning Weeks, 10-27 October, will focus on ‘digital citizenship’ – how eTwinning can develop Europe’s next generation of active citizens.
#eTwCitizen16 will be about teachers setting up projects around the theme of digital citizenship – we know that you are eager to get started, but wait until 10 October to register your #eTwCitizen16 project.

eTwinning Back to School Campaign Competition Update

Have you registered an eTwinning project during this scholastic year (September – November 2011) ?  The eTwinning Back to School Competion is drawing to a close!  The first 50 teachers who registered or joined a project between September 2011 – November 2011 will be receiving an eTwinning Desk Clock.  All schools whose teachers have registered or joined a project in this same timeframe will be automatically eligible to take part in  a lottery which will enable them to win a digital video camera (for the school).   By deadline (30th November 2011), projects must have been accepted by the partners and approved by the National Support Service in order to qualify.  Below you can find the updated list as at 21st Novmber 2011:

eTwinning Learning Event for School Leaders

eTwinning is organising an online Learning Event  targeted at School Leaders.  This event is specifically for those who hold a management role in their school as School Head Teacher, Deputy Head or Department Head. It will explore how to introduce eTwinning, how to support teachers in their eTwinning work, and the benefits that eTwinning can bring to your school.

eTwinning Back to School Competition: End October Update

The eTwinning Back to School Competition is underway!   In order to participate in the Back to School Competition, you need to register a project on the eTwinning platform.  The first 50 teachers who register a project at the beginning of the scholastic year, will receive an eTwinning desk clock/pen holder.  All projects with a Maltese teacher registered in it between the beginning of Septmeber and the end of November 2011 will be eligible to participate in a lottery with the chance to win 2 digital video cameras for the school.  Participation in the lottery is automatic once the project is approved by the Maltese eTwinning National Support Service.

European Chain Reaction: eTwinning Project Looking for Maltese Partners

The European Chain Reaction 2012 is a science/art eTwinning project for primary schools wishing to create, film and upload a “Rube-Goldberg/Robert Storm Petersen-like” chain reaction. This project is both a competition and a European eTwinning collaboration.  The school which uploads the most astonishing, creative chain reaction not only wins a trophy, but also wins tons of fame :)  In the end all videos will be merged into one big cross border European Chain Reaction.

This project is founded by Michael Purves and Dave Schrauwen, and their aim is to find a partner from each country participating in eTwinning.  For more information visit this year’s blog:  http://www.ecr2012.blogspot.com/.  You can find information regarding the rules of the eTwinning Project / Competition, the timeline and work plan. Only 1 school from each country is allowed to participate, and Dave and Micahel are eager to add a Maltese teacher to their group!

Belgian Schools Looking for eTwinning Partners from Malta

The Maltese and Belgian NSS are looking to enhance the collaboration between the two countries.  A group of teachers, forming part of the German Community in Belgium, are looking for project partners from Malta.  There is a variety of projects in which Belgian and Maltese teachers can partake in, for example, language projects or projects about the environment.  The working language will be English.  If you would like more information about this initiative, please send an email to etwinning@schoolnet.gov.mt, so that you will be able to get in touch with Belgian schools.
