May 23, 2011toJune 3, 2011

The eTwinning National Support Service would like to inform Maltese educators about the upcoming Learning Event entitled Internet Safety & You led by Karl Hopwood and sponsored by eTwinning Malta.

The learning lab will allow teachers to explore the risks and benefits of the internet (including privacy, cyber bullying, sexting, validity and bias) and will look at what children and young people are really doing when they are online (as well as how they actually get online). There will be a range of resources and practical ideas to try in the classroom as well as opportunities to ask questions and collaborate with each other using the online forum. The main purpose of the learning lab is to increase teachers knowledge and understanding of eSafety issues so that they feel empowered to support their pupils in staying safe online. There will also be an opportunity to reflect on some of the difficulties for teachers in protecting their own professional identity online. The event will run from the 23rd May to the 3rd of June 2011 and is fully online.
